The 2020 Track Cycling World Championships will take place in Berlin, Germany, the UCI announced on Wednesday.

The 2020 Track Cycling World Championships will take place in Berlin, Germany, the UCI announced on Wednesday.

Cycling's world governing body revealed the hosts for the next Olympic season, but the destination for the 2018 and 2019 Track World Championships is still to be announced.

The 2017 event will take place in Hong Kong next April.

The UCI announced 15 World Championships across seven cycling disciplines following a management committee meeting during the 2016 Road World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Three of those were Para-cycling Road World Championships, but the UCI is still to announce when the next Para-cycling Track World Championships will take place.

Eleven countries will host the 15 events, including Britain, with Yorkshire awarded the 2019 Road World Championships.

UCI president Brian Cookson said: "We were especially impressed by the strength of interest in hosting our flagship events, as demonstrated by the sheer number and calibre of the bids we received.

"The UCI is committed to expanding the reach of cycling worldwide and ensuring the sport continues to grow in both established and emerging markets."

2018 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships - Liege, Belgium

2019 UCI Road World Championships - Yorkshire, Great Britain

2019 UCI Mountain Bike (and Masters Mountain Bike) World Championships - Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada

2019 UCI BMX World Championships - Heusden-Zolder, Belgium

2019 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships - Emmen, the Netherlands

2019 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships - Poznan, Poland
