The investigation was called for after allegations were made by sprinter Jess Varnish, and members of the Paralympic squad, against former technical director Shane Sutton.
Sutton resigned in April but recently was cleared of eight of the nine charges against him, being found guilty of using sexist language towards Varnish.
Brailsford, who now works solely for Team Sky but was British Cycling's performance director during Britain's most successful years on the track before switching to the trade team, has also come in for criticism from former coach Ken Matheson, who described the regime as ‘brutal' and ‘macho'.
But while Brailsford admitted not everyone may like his methods, he does not think he ever stepped out of line.
"I'm uncompromising in trying to achieve success," Brailsford told the BBC. "I don't think I treated people wrongly.
"I don't think I was vindictive, I don't think I was biased, I don't think I was malicious."
The investigation has been carried out by British Rowing chairman Annamarie Phelps and will cover allegations into the culture at British Cycling.
