Cavendish leads Ster

World road race champion Mark Cavendish took the leader’s jersey despite being pipped by German sprinter Andre Greipel in the second stage of the Ster ZLM Toer on Friday.

Cavendish was beaten into third in a mass sprint by Marcel Kittel and Mark Renshaw on the opening stage, and this time Greipel was victorious.
Renshaw was also edged out as the Australian continued his consistent displays in the race.
Cavendish takes the leader’s jersey from Germany’s Marcel Kittel.
