Neah Evans enjoyed a double dose of action on her first day of World Cup action as Great Britain took to the boards for the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Colombia.
The 26-year-old finished in an encouraging 11th place in the scratch race, joining a strong field featuring Australia's Amy Cure, USA's Sarah Hammer and Rachele Barbieri of Italy.
It was Hammer who was to eventually take the spoils, leading a three-strong group of riders who took a lap on the field as Russia's Evgeniya Romanyuta earned silver while bronze went to Lydia Gurley from Ireland.
But that wasn't the only action in South America for Evans, opening her competition in the team pursuit with Manon Lloyd, Emily Nelson and Emily Kay – the first time the quartet had raced together in the competition.
They were the last to go in Cali, with their time of 4:35.651, six seconds behind the fastest qualifying time, set by Italy.
That sees the young team go on to face Poland in Sunday's first round, safe in the knowledge that a strong run could see them in contention for the bronze medal come the end of the weekend.
Evans will also take to the track individually once again when she competes in Sunday's points race, looking to build on her five podium positions from the British National Track Championships last month.
