Quadruple Olympic champion Laura Kenny has received yet another award after being named the recipient of the 2016 FT Bidlake Memorial Prize.
Joining a roll of honour that includes Sir Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Chris Boardman, Nicole Cooke and Tom Simpson, Kenny was chosen after giving 'the most outstanding performance or contribution to the betterment of cycling'.
The 24-year-old won team pursuit and omnium gold at Rio 2016, making it a double-double after winning the same events at London 2012, to make her the most successful British female Olympian of all time.
She missed out on team pursuit gold at the 2016 World Championships, but still left the London event with gold medals in the omnium and scratch race – making her a seven-time world champion.
"I'm thrilled to have been chosen to receive the Bidlake Memorial Prize," Kenny said.
"To have my name added to the long list of so many respected and successful cyclists that have received the prize over the years is a real honour."
Kenny is now set for a period away from the track after last week announcing she is expecting her first child with husband Jason.
