Jens Voigt has urged cyclists who have used doping in the past to come clean, and has strenuously denied ever taking illegal substances himself.

Recent admissions by former Telekom riders Bjarne Riis and Erik Zabel, together with claims by numerous coaches, have brought the issue back into the spotlight following last year's Operacion Puerto blood doping affair, though Voigt insisted that such admissions were important.
"At the moment we all have to live with the face we're under a blanket of suspicion," he told the Lübecker Nachrichten.
"But those who have brought the house down upon us all must keep talking. The only thing that would help us now is a year free from scandals."
The CSC rider, who last year won the Tour of Germany, insisted that his ability to keep up with those who have taken such substances was down to his punishing training regime.
"I have always been hard on myself," he commented. "It didn't matter whether it was raining or whether I had heavy legs, I always trained. Not all of my fellow riders do that. That's the reason I can stay at the top."
