"Serhiy Honchar will undergo follow up tests and a medical evaluation based on blood tests taken by independent medical personnel on behalf of the T-Mobile team. These unannounced tests were taken at Liege (Liege-Bastogne-Liege race) and the Tour of Romandie," the team said on their website.
"The blood test results of the 36-year-old...are within all UCI limits and no doping violation has taken place. Honchar will not compete for a period of 30 days while this testing takes place."
Cycling has been dogged by doping scandals in recent years. Earlier this week Giro d'Italia champion Ivan Basso said he was guilty of attempted doping and he now faces a ban.
Internal politics are also damaging the sport. In a statement, Unibet.com said they were starting legal action against Giro organisers RCS Sport and the UCI following the team's exclusion from the Tour of Italy on contractual grounds.
Unibet said they were looking for damages of 20 million euros ($27 million) plus other costs.
The Giro starts on Saturday.
