Tennant and Skinner bag gold in Guadeloupe

Tennant clinched victory in the individual pursuit and Skinner landed the kilometre time trial title, while there was also success for Jon Dibben, claiming silver in the omnium in Baie-Mahault.

Tennant's time of 4:32.686 was good enough to beat Russia's Alexander Evtushenko into second, with German Kirsten Thiele collecting bronze, and clinch his first European individual crown.

The triumph continues a productive year for Tennant, less than two years out from Rio 2016, as he builds up to a tilt at a maiden Olympic medal.

As well as adding to team pursuit victory earlier in the week and Commonwealth Games silver in the same event in Glasgow, the 27-year-old also won the individual pursuit at this year's British National Track Championships.

Skinner's gold medal came courtesy of a time of 1:02.399, while Germany's Joachim Eilers and Frenchman Quentin Lafargue finished second and third respectively, with Britain's Matt Crampton in tenth.

Much like Tennant, Skinner has had an enjoyable year in 2014 so far as he goes in search of a debut Olympic appearance in Rio.

The 22-year-old Scot shone at last month's British National Track Championships, with victory in the kilo, keirin, sprint and team sprint, the latter alongside Olympic champions Philip Hindes and Jason Kenny.

Elsewhere, European omnium champion Laura Trott heads into the final day of competition tied for the bronze medal position.

Alongside the women's omnium, the women's keirin, men's keirin, women's individual pursuit and men's madison will each be decided on Sunday.
