Trek-Sagafredo's Riccardo Zoidl won the fourth stage of the Tour of Croatia after a mountaintop finish.
It was Zoidl's first victory in three years, coming thanks to a well-timed attack a couple of kilometres from the end of the stage that left him 28 seconds clear of the pack.
Matija Kvasina came second, the Synergy Baku rider's efforts enough to give him the overall lead; Zoidl was effectively put out of the overall running following a crash on stage two, though he is still in second place in the GC.
"This victory means a lot to me because this year I had a lot of troubles in the beginning of the season," said Zoidl.
"I knew that it was a really long climb and you had to pace it, and wait and wait. My director said to wait until the last moment.
"With 5km to go I tried to split it a little bit and then there were three guys. I felt good, so I decided to go a little bit early with 2k to go, and it worked out. It's an amazing day for me."
