Sky consider suing

"We're discussing with (tour organisers) ASO to establish the facts. That's the first step to determine on the best course of action and whether legal action is appropriate," team manager Dave Brailsford told Reuters on Monday's rest day.

"ASO reacted swiftly and appropriately to the situation. We're working fine together behind closed doors."

The car, a technical vehicle for official broadcaster France Television, was expelled from the race along with its driver.

Flecha suffered from an injured elbow after crashing on the tarmac as a result of the collision.

"He did not ride today. He went to hospital and checks confirmed there was no fracture but he received stitches and we'll see tomorrow whether he's fit to start," Brailsford added.

Dutchman Johnny Hoogerland was also injured in the same incident and his Vacansoleil team are also considering legal action.
