The 104th edition of the Tour de France begins in Dusseldorf and the serious racing gets underway as early as the fifth stage, which features a mountain-top finish. Visits to the Alps, Pyrenees and Alps for a second time will give the GC contenders plenty of chances to shine, while there are also nine relatively flat stages for the sprinters to focus on.

The Grand Depart gets the Tour rolling on Saturday July 1st, with the sprinters set to steam up the Champs Elysees three weeks later on Sunday July 23rd.
