Andre Greipel wins as Cavendish left behind on stage four in Turkey

Greipel's Lotto Soudal team-mates gave him the perfect delivery into the final straight in a highly-tactical stage which saw Mark Cavendish - winner of the race's first two stages - frozen out of the final sprint.

Daniele Colli was second across the line, with Daniele Ratto third, while Davide Rebellin retained his seven-second lead in the General Classification.

Cavendish and his Etixx-QuickStep team-mates were caught out on the final decisive climb, and finished over a minute and a half behind the 55-strong peloton.

The Manxman still holds the join lead in the Green Jersey race, alongside Ratto.

"This finish is a kind of good for me, it's harder with climbs just before the finish," said Greipel.

"I just tried to stay calm, to stay in the front of bunch and then the team did the good job to put this breakaway back. I'm happy that I could finished off with the good sprint I think."
