The Big Apple will thus join Paris and Hong Kong as part of the international trio of host cities for the series, which attracts the best riders in the world hoping to earn the prize bonus of €2,250,000 if they win three consecutive Grand Prix in a season, or €1,000,000 over two seasons.
After three years in California, the New York leg of the Grand Slam will now serve as the season’s grand finale, from April 26-29, 2018. The Series will start in Paris from November 30-December 3, 2017, followed by Hong Kong from February 9-11, 2018.
“Launching of the Longines Masters Series in Los Angeles was an incredible journey,” Masters founder Christophe Ameeuw stated in the announcement of the venue change. “Over the last three years, we have poured our hearts and souls into Los Angeles. Together, I believe we provided a best in class event and elevated the sport on the West Coast.”
“While it is bittersweet for me to share this news, we have decided that it is in the best interest of EEM to relocate the event.”
