Delestre regains world number one spot on Longines Jumping Rankings

Simon Delestre has quickly regained his position as the world’s leading showjumper by climbing back to the top of the Longines Jumping Rankings.

After being pushed down to second last month, the Frenchman is now back at the helm replacing USA’s McLain Ward.
The American, who was world number one last month, has fallen down to third, also allowing Germany’s Christian Ahlmann to move up one position up to second.
The rest of the top ten has remained quite stable over the past month, as France’s Penelope Leprevost stays in fourth place while USA’s Kent Farrington and Great Britain’s Scott Brash change places at fifth and sixth respectively.
Another French rider, Kevin Staut remains in seventh, as Germany’s Daniel Deusser and Ireland’s Bertram Allen climb one position each to rank eight and nine, thanks to Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet falling down two spots to tenth.
Outside the top ten, Germany’s Marcus Ehning moves three places from 15 to 12, as does Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander who moves from 17 to 14. Canada’s Eric Lamaze breaks into the top 20 going up eight places from 24 to 16, where he is joined by Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat who goes from 21 to 19.
Below them, two of Ireland’s riders have made sizeable moves to almost break into the top 20. Denis Lynch makes a good move of 10 places from 32 to 22, whilst Conor Swail goes up 13 places from 36 to 23.
A trio of riders have made big jumps to break into the top 50. Ukraine’s Cassio Rivetti goes up 14 places from 51 to 37, Belgium’s Nicola Philippaerts goes up 23 places from 61 to 38, with Canada’s Tiffany Foster also enjoying a steady rise of 17 places from 63 to 46.
Outside of the top 50 there are a number of other big movers. Austria’s Max Kuhner jumps 19 places from 73 to 54, New Zealand’s Sharn Wordley goes up 21 places from 79 to 58, and Sweden’s Peder Fredricson lifts 13 places from 75 to 62.
They are followed by two Dutch riders with good moves as Jeroen Dubbeldam goes up 12 places from 80 to 68, whilst compatriot Willem Greve rises 11 places from 86 to 75.
Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels jumps 20 places from 98 to 78, but the biggest jump across the top 100 is reserved for Germany’s Philipp Weishaupt who moves an incredible 58 places from last month being 139 to 81.
Also breaking into the top 100 are Finland’s Anna-Julia Kontio who moves up 13 places from 106 to 93 and Mexico’s Jose Antonio Chedraui Eguia who moves 22 places from 117 to 95.
