Nasser Al-Attiyah will head to the ground-breaking CNP ASFALISTIKI Super Special Stage in the Cypriot capital Nicosia with a 15.1-second lead on the Cyprus Rally, round four of the FIA European Rally Championship.
After losing out to Nikolay Gryazin by 0.1s on today’s opening run, the Qatari hit back with victory on the third stage of the day following the cancellation of stage two, beating double European champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz by 5.1s as Gryazin suffered two offs and dropped 17.9s to his rival, losing the overall lead in the process. He's 17.8s off the lead in third with Kajetanowicz in second.

The CNP ASFALISTIKI Super Special Stage crosses through the United Nations’ Buffer Zone into Northern Cyprus, not once but twice this season albeit over a shorter distance of 4.15 kilometres. Once referenced by the UN as “the most successful measure in the building of trust between the communities [of Nicosia] since 1974”, the mixed-surface test will be run at 11h27 and 16h59 local time.
