Marco Cid is expecting to have a better run on his home round of the ERC Junior season on the Azores Airlines Rallye.
Cid started his maiden FIA European Rally Championship campaign on unfamiliar territory on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés and the Circuit of Ireland, but he has competed in the Azores for the past two years, including as part of his title-winning Portuguese two-wheel drive campaign in 2015.
“It is a rally with beautiful landscape, a high rhythm in places and some treacherous sections,” he said.
“The uncertain weather on the island always makes it a lottery with the tyres, and if it rains the stages become very slippery. I expect a better result in the Azores because I already know the stages. I’ve already tested the 208 on gravel and it was positive.”
