ERC event-winning Fabia R5 turns 100

FIA European Rally Championship event-winning make ŠKODA has reached a significant milestone by completing Fabia R5 number 100 for a customer in The Netherlands.
Representatives from Erik Wevers’ team travelled to ŠKODA Motorsport’s Mladá Boleslav base to collect the landmark machine.
Afterwards, ŠKODA Motorsport director Michal Hrabánek said: “This shows just how sought-after our latest rally car is and confirms what a good job our Customer Racing department is doing. After all, the ŠKODA Fabia R5 has only been around for about a year and a half.”
World motorsport governing body the FIA homologated the ŠKODA Fabia R5 for competition use in April 2015. Since then the car has taken seven ERC event wins with rising rally star Ralfs Sirmacis (pictured) notching up three triumphs driving for Sports Racing Technologies with support from ŠKODA’s Baltic importer.
The 2017 ERC season gets underway on the Azores Airlines Rallye from 30 March-1 April.
