Organisers of Poland’s round of the 2018 FIA European Rally Championship have announced preliminary details of the penultimate event of the upcoming ERC season.
Based in Mikołajki in the Masuria lake district from 21-23 September, the event is taking place for the 75thtime in 2018 and returns to the ERC schedule for the first time since 2013 when Kajetan Kajetanowicz took victory for the LOTOS Rally Team (pictured).

“While planning the route of 75thRally Poland the organisers from the Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Association take advantage of the best stages known from previous years including those being admired by crews competing in the Polish round of the FIA World Rally Championship,” a press statement read. “What’s more, Rally Poland will benefit from the unique sporting infrastructure that has been hugely developed in recent years including the circuit Mikołajki Arena and spacious service park next to Mikołajki’s Hotel Gołębiewski that bears the concrete surface.

“Due to the FIA European Rally Championship regulations, the event’s format will be modified. The rally will be more compact comparing to previous years with the total length of special stages of 200 to 230 kilometers. The rivalry will start on Friday evening (21 September) just after Free Practice, the Qualifying Stage and shakedown. The event will last till Sunday afternoon (23 September).”

First run in 1921, Rally Poland joined the ERC in 1960. Next year’s event will mark its 50thERC appearance and will also double as the final round of the Polish championship.
