Kalle Rovanperä says Nikolay Gryazin is the ultimate rival after the talented young guns locked horns on the closing round of the 2017 FIA European Rally Championship recently.
Rovanperä, 17, finished second to the Russian, who turned 20 on the first day of Rally Liepāja, as he built his experience of the M-Sport Ford Fiesta R5 he will use for his upcoming world championship debut.
“Every battle with Nikolay is always really good because we have been driving in R2 cars also and we are always between a few seconds so it’s really nice,” said the Red Bull-backed Finn. “We are getting faster all the time and it’s a really nice battle all the time.”
