Smokin’ Botka battles to fourth on ERC Cyprus Rally

Dávid Botka completed his maiden campaign in the FIA European Rally Championship’s top tier by equaling his best finish to date with fourth place on the recent CNP Asfalistiki Cyprus Rally.

Botka, last season’s ERC2 champion, also finished fourth on the Azores Airlines Rallye earlier in the year alongside co-driver and fellow Hungarian Péter Szeles.

Making his ninth appearance of the season in Cyprus, Botka had to cope with smoke filling the cockpit of his privately-run Citroën DS3 R5 during Sunday morning’s stages having early been dogged by reliability issues.
