Top award for ERC Rally Islas Canarias

Last weekend, the rally was handed the Best Sporting Event accolade at the second edition of the Gran Canaria European Sport Island Awards.

Germán Morales, chairman of the rally organising committee, accepted the award during the ceremony at the Pérez Galdós Theatre, one of the most historic buildings in Gran Canaria.

“For us is another kind of support after a brilliant edition,” said Morales. “Gran Canaria Council, with the Insular Institute of Sports and the Tourist Board, are one of the most important partners and, together, we are thinking in the next edition, where we will put our effort.”

Broadcast live on TV in the Canary Islands, the awards evening, the work of the Gran Canaria Council, also celebrated various sporting achievement.
