Antonín Tlusťák has retired from Saturday’s leg of the Cyprus Rally, round four of the FIA European Rally Championship.
The experienced Czech was seventh overall at the midday halt in Nicosia but has dropped out with broken steering caused by a big impact to the bottom of his ŠKODA Fabia R5 on stage five.

It was also a stage to forget for Alexandros Tsouloftas, who lost time with a puncture, while Bruno Magalhães completed the stage with damage to the front of his SEAJETS ŠKODA following a big impact.

“There were big, big ruts and it was a big impact in the ruts,” said the European championship leader. “It’s very easy for the guys who become behind us to stop in this stage, it’s incredibly rough.”

Out front, Nasser Al-Attiyah was 14.3s quicker than a cautious Kajetan Kajetanowicz and now leads by 31s.
