Jari Huttunen made a winning start to life behind the wheel of an Opel ADAM R2 when he scored a class victory on the Finnish championship Vaakuna-Ralli last weekend.
Huttunen will step up from the national-level ADAC Opel Rallye Cup to contest the six-round FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship in a factory-backed ADAM R2 alongside co-driver and fellow Finn Antti Linnaketo.
A protégé of double world champion Marcus Grönholm, Huttunen tweeted that his win on his return to driving on snow and ice had been a “good start”.
The ERC Junior U27 Championship begins on the Azores Airlines Rallye from 30 March-1 April. Huttunen will compete under the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team banner.
