Fernandez's victory in the men's competition came courtesy of a 285.38-point performance as the double world champion pulled off a quadruple toeloop, quadruple Salchow-double toeloop and a triple Axel-double toeloop.

Kazakhstan's Denis Ten and America's Adam Rippon took second and third, respectively, as Fernandez's second win of the year means he progresses to the season-ending final.

In the women's event Medvedeva scored a total of 221.54 points as the reigning world champion scored level four for her spins and step sequence.

Her second win this season came ahead of teammate Maria Sotskova – making her senior Grand Prix debut – while Japan's Wakaba Higuchi claimed bronze. The Trophee de France concludes on Sunday with the Exhibition Gala.
