Superstocks shake off inhibitions

The top Superstock bikes are revving things up at the Bol d’Or. Three Superstock teams – Moto Ain, Tati Team Beaujolais Racing and Team 3Art Yam’Avenue – are holding tight to their spots in the top 10, while three others have slipped into the top 15.
On track, rider performance can differentiate Superstock class bikes from the EWC machines and, at pit stops, they do not get to use the quick-release wheel change. So their current bravura is all the more laudable. 18 hours into the race, three Superstock teams are boldly holding on to their places in the Top 10.
The trio is made up of Tati Team Beaujolais Racing with Julien Enjolras, Dylan Buisson and Anthony Violland (a private team on Kawasaki, which has competed for the FIM EWC World Cup since 2014), Moto Ain, which has entrusted its bike to Hugo Clere, Johan Nigon and Alexis Masbou (a Moto3 rider making his Endurance debut) and 2016 FIM EWC World Cup winner Team 3Art Yam’Avenue with riders Louis Bulle, Alex Plancassagne and Luca Marconi. The three teams keep swapping their targeted places on the Superstock podium as refuelling stops and race incidents unfold. Tati Team Beaujolais Racing got delayed by a blocked wheel axle, while Team 3Art Yam’Avenue had a slowdown after running out of fuel.
Yamaha Viltaïs Experiences has dropped back from this group after a series of mechanical problems but remains in the Top 15, together with Racing Team Sarazin and Völpker NRT48 Schubert Motors. Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki is lapping further back after making frequent pit stops following a crash.
