Viktor Lundberg and Jonas Borring scored within four minutes of one another to put Randers in charge before their hosts hit back after the break to seal a 3-2 win.
Kim Aabech reduced the arrers from the penalty spot before Randers had Mustafa Amini sent off, with Aabech levelling the game with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Aarhus moved up to second as they completed their comeback - Stephan Petersen scored on 86 minutes and Randers' poor day was complete when Kasper Jensen saw red in the closing stages.
FC Copenhagen continued their perfect start to the campaign as they picked up a second win with a 3-1 victory at Sonderjyske.
Thomas Delaney opened the scoring before Nicolai Jorgensen doubled their lead with a 10th-minute penalty.
Pierre Kanstrup pulled a goal back shortly afterwards but Sonderjyske could not find an equaliser and, when Kvist Jorgensen struck with 10 minutes to go it was clear where the three points were going.
Meanwhile, Brondby's poor start to the season dragged on as they lost their third successive game to remain pointless.
They were beaten 2-0 at home to Hobro IK, who sealed the win courtesy of Mads Jessen's effort and an unfortunate Lukas Hradecky own goal.
