Lesotho scored their first win of the African Nations Cup qualifiers with a 3-1 home triumph over Niger, who threatened to storm off the pitch in a tempestuous Group Three encounter in Maseru.
The sending-off midway through the second half of Niger's Djiri Boukary precipitated a long stoppage during which the visiting team verbally abused match officials and then threatened to leave the pitch.
Niger had been trailing 2-1 at the time to two goals by Refiloe Potse. They later returned to the fray only to concede a third goal to Basotho fullback Mpitsa Marai.
Potse scored in a goalmouth scramble in the 16th minute and then with a glancing header on the stroke of halftime after Daouda Kamilou had equalised for Niger with their first goal in the qualifying campaign.
Nigeria lead the group with a maximum nine points at the halfway stage in the qualifiers. Uganda are second with four points, Lesotho have three and Niger one.
