Akil is Wright man for Fleetwood

Wright is the latest player to come off non-league Ilkeston's conveyor belt and follows Cod Army striker Hunter and Sheffield United forward Che Adams into Sky Bet League One.

"I'm very excited to be here," Wright told Fleetwood's official website.

"When I found out about the move I was over the moon and I can't wait to get started now.

"I found out about the move on Wednesday afternoon so it was very surprising but exciting at the same time.

"I know Ash Hunter well from our time at Ilkeston and hopefully I'll settle in as well as he has. I haven't spoken to Ash about it but from what I've heard he's been doing very well here.

"My aim is to break into the first team as soon as possible. I'm a hard-working midfielder who plays box-to-box and likes to get on the ball. I want to continue to develop between now and the end of the season, and to break into the first team as quickly as I can."
