Partick boss Alan Archibald branded the dismissal of Frederic Frans as harsh as his side held on for a point in their opening game of the season against Hamilton.
Frans was sent off for a second bookable offence by referee Brian Colvin just 25 minutes into the Ladbrokes Premiership clash at New Douglas Park.
And, despite Thistle doing well to hold their hosts to a goalless draw, Archibald was clearly unhappy about the red card.
He said: "It was very harsh. It'll be a long season if he's going to give decisions like that.
"He said our boy was rash - fine. But it was his second tackle in 25 minutes.
"As long as he is consistent with it, I've got no qualms about it.
"But I'm sure you'll find that won't happen to any other team in the league. It'll probably happen to us again."
Hamilton went on to dominate the match, with Ali Crawford carving out a number of chances and Greg Docherty hitting the woodwork late on.
Partick goalkeeper Tomas Cerny also proved to have a key role to play with a terrific save to deny Crawford in the second half.
In the circumstances, Archibald was satisfied with the outcome as his side returned to Firhill with the draw.
He added: "I've got to be happy with the point, with 10 men. We worked hard and rode our luck.
"Our goalkeeper was outstanding and you need that with 10 men. It's hard with 10 men in the first game of the season.
"But we prepared well in pre-season and that was good as they showed great fitness levels and energy and I was delighted with the togetherness of the team."
Player-manager Martin Canning admits Accies should have taken maximum points but had no complaints about the endeavour of his players.
He said: "There is a mixture of emotions. We deserved to win the game, I don't think there is any doubt about that.
"Even when it was 11 versus 11, we were the better team. With 10 versus 11, there was only one team in it.
"In games like that, the first goal is crucial.
"Ali Crawford had a great chance just before half-time and if he had scored that we would probably have come out in the second half and scored again.
"When you don't score, it gives Thistle something to hang onto and they defended well.
"We did 95 per cent of the things I'd asked them to do - it's just the putting the ball in the back of the net that wins you the game."
