Goals from Marley Warkins and Alfie Mawson saw Barnsley cancel out Billy Knott's opener and beat Bradford 2-1 to reach the Northern Section quarter-finals.
There are three more rounds to negotiate before attention can turn to Wembley, with York next up for Johnson's men.
But the manager is hoping he can lead his side to the final and give the club's supporters a big day out.
He said: "You dream of it, of course you do. I'd love to lead that team out - we'd take 45,000 I reckon to Wembley. I'd love nothing more than to do that. The dream's there and that's what we've got to keep aspiring too.
"(But) you can't talk about Wembley yet. It's too tough a northern section to talk about that. It'll be disrespectful to anybody that's in the draw still."
Barnsley were made to work hard for victory at Valley Parade and Johnson was proud with how his side stood up to the challenge against the Bantams.
"I was really pleased, from such a young group, how competitive we were," he said. "You know when you come from Bradford it'll be a difficult game. You know they'll play the ball into difficult areas and you've got to make sure you stand up to it and compete.
"I thought our back three were very, very strong. The goalkeeper looked good, we were difficult to break down.
"It was a tough game to play in. A few have come out with knocks and bumps and niggles. But I'm chuffed to be in the next round."
Barnsley suffered a blow this week when Joe Rothwell returned to parent club Manchester United to have his tonsils removed.
Johnson added: "It's a big operation. It's not just your bog standard get your tonsils out, he's had this for an awful long time. He's had it over the course of three or four years when he keeps getting this recurrence of tonsillitis.
"It's just best for him and his career to get his tonsils out and kick on from there. With all the modern equipment Man United have got everything will be aided in helping him get back quicker."
