Tom Bradshaw's late effort extended Walsall's unbeaten run to five games as they fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at Crewe.
Bradshaw cancelled out Marcus Haber's early header for the Railwaymen, who are now without a win in five games and still in relegation trouble, although they have edged two points clear of the drop zone.
Haber gave Crewe a promising start despite appearing to waste a one-on-one by hammering his shot against a post. But the striker was on hand to head home after Nicky Ajose kept the play alive and crossed the ball back into the box.
After hitting five past Crawley on Tuesday night, the Saddlers appeared to have left their shooting boots back in the West Midlands with Kieron Morris and Andy Taylor wasting chances to draw level.
But the hosts were shocked when a deflected effort from Bradshaw 10 minutes from time caught out Paul Rachbuka and spun into the corner of the net to draw Walsall level.
