Reus, 22, came up through the ranks at lower-league side Rot Weiss Ahlen before joining Gladbach in 2009.
He made an instant impact, scoring a wonder goal after a solo run from halfway at the start of that season, and has gone on to score 22 goals in 76 Bundesliga matches, earning his first full Germany cap this month.
"Marco Reus is without question an interesting player," Rummenigge told Sport Bild. "He is young, and a Germany international.
"Our goal is to get even more Germany players to Bayern."
Reus is contracted to Gladbach until the summer of 2015 but reportedly has a release clause of 18 million euros.
