Mario Gotze has been ruled out of the German Cup final after he suffered a broken rib, Bayern Munich have confirmed.

Gotze, who has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Bayern after an inauspicious season, has been declared “fine for Euro 2016” by the club.
Although the 23-year-old is expected to be fit to represent Germany at the Euros in France this summer, he will now miss the Cup final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
The news of Gotze's broken rib, which he reportedly suffered last week, comes on the same day Germany boss Joachim Low spoke about how the forward needs to have the "trust" of a coach.
"Generally speaking a change - a new environment, new stimuli, new challenges - can sometimes release new powers," Low told German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
"You only have to look at the development of Toni Kroos. He was great at Bayern but he went to Real Madrid and took the next step."

'Mario needs trust'

"What Mario needs is trust. He needs a coach who will desperately want him in the team. But that is no criticism to Bayern or Pep Guardiola of course."
Gotze, who moved to Bayern in 2013 from rivals Borussia Dortmund, has failed to establish himself in three seasons under coach Pep Guardiola, who moves after the final to join Manchester City.
The 23-year-old, who scored Germany's World Cup winning goal in 2014, however, enjoys the full trust of Low, who never stopped selecting him, including for the upcoming Euro 2016.
He has scored 17 goals in 50 internationals but managed just three goals for Bayern in the league this season, two of them on the final matchday.

OUR VIEW

Whether or not Gotze was going to appear for Bayern against Dortmund we don't know, but the very likely consequence of this injury is that he has played his last game for the club. With Liverpool and Arsenal among the clubs around Europe who are reportedly keen to acquire the World Cup winner's services, it does not seem probable that he will be at Bayern next season, particularly given Ancelotti's apparent disinterest in keeping him there. Still, at least he will be fit for the Euros, so Low will be mightily relieved.
