Bury are expected to decide on defender Matty Foulds' future in the next 24 hours after receiving several bids for the teenager.
Foulds, 17, was left out of manager David Flitcroft's squad for Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Morecambe as the club considers whether to sell him.
"I'm protecting Matty, we've got some very good bids in for him now," Flitcroft told the club's official website.
"It's been bubbling along for a week now and some fantastic football clubs want his services.
"We took a business decision to not play Matty, with the organisation and the business at the forefront of my mind, because I didn't want this game upsetting that or getting in the way of that.
"We now have to follow that up over the next 24 hours and see where that's at."
Foulds has yet to make his league debut for Bury but impressed in their home Capital One Cup defeat to Leicester in August and has been on the bench for every game since.
