Rogerio wins Brazil gong

Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni has won the player of the season award in his native Brazil. West Ham striker Carlos Tevez won last year's award, which was presented on Monday night by national team coach Dunga and his assistant Jorginho.

"I want to thank Sao Paulo, the club closest to my heart," Brazil international Rogerio said on collecting the trophy.
"If it was not for this club I would not be receiving this award."
The full "team of the season" included former Bayern Munich midfielder Ze Roberto and new Real Madrid signing Marcelo.
