- OnBernardo SilvaManchester City
Bernardo Silva is on for Sterling, who receives a standing ovation.
Silva comes back onto the pitch and looks to be okay. Meanwhile Bernardo Silva is preparing to come on.
OUCH! Hysaj and Sailva are both getting treatment after a nasty clash of heads.
The host have overplayed a bit in their own half, the sort of risk taking that saw them come unstuck on a few occasions last season.
GREAT BLOCK FROM STONES! City give it away near the box, the ball is cutback but Stones does brilliantly to dive in and block Hamsik's effort with his stomach.
City give the ball away near their box, Zielinski goes down in the area under a challenge from Walker and wants a penalty but the referee waves play on. He looked to have been caught but went down too easily.
Some fancy footwork from 35-year-old from Reina who goes past Sane outside his box before clearing.
MISSED CHANCE! Callejon ghosts in past Stones and is unmarked in the box but the spiky haired Hamsik's pass is over-hit and goes out of play. That was a great opportunity.
- OffLorenzo InsigneNapoli
Insigne is limping off and is replaced by Allan, who started in the win over Roma at the weekend.
Guardiola looks fairly content on the touchline in his grey jumper and black bomber jacket. He will probably be aiming for a third goal to kill the game off.
In the other game in this group, Shakhtar now lead Feyenoord 2-1 after a Bernard brace.
Silva for once chooses the wrong option, he dallies instead of playing the through ball to Sane in the box and Albiol does well to recover. City are showing no signs of taking their foot off the pedal.
Zielinski has had a below-par game, his latest pass is an attempted through ball which is easily intercepted.
What a start that would have been. De Bruyne's trademark low cross towards Jesus is well intercepted by Albiol.
- 2nd Half

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: City lead 2-0 courtesy of early goals from Sterling and Jesus. Napoli then improved but Mertens missed a penalty. What a 45 minutes it has been!

The visitors have vastly improved in the last ten minutes up front and defensively after that shaky start.
GOOD BLOCK: Swift move from Napoli, it falls to Mertens whose drive is blocked by a diving Otamendi.
MERTENS MISSES THE PENALTY! The Belgian's fierce effort is blocked by Ederson's leg and Fernandinho runs in to clear the ball. That was a poor spot kick.
- Yellow cardKyle WalkerManchester City
PENALTY TO NAPOLI! From the corner, Walker is penalised for a push on Albiol in the six yard box.
City's first ever game in the Champions was against Napoli in the 2011/12 season, it finished 1-1.
GOOD GOALKEEPING: Napoli have a promising spell of possession. Insigne's cross towards Callejon is well gathered by Ederson under pressure.
A simple pass from Albiol to the left back is over-hit and goes out of play, sums up Napoli's performance so far.
From the corner, De Bruyne's cross is headed away. It falls to Sterling whose scuffed effort goes wide. This has been a relentless onslaught from the hosts.
OFF THE LINE! Koulibaly on his goal line blocks Jesus' effort on the turn. Goal line technology confirms the ball did not cross the line - but ony just.
City have a free-kick 30 yards out after Koulibaly trips De Bruyne. Sane's effort goes straight into the wall though.
SO CLOSE! City break, Jesus finds Sane who tees up De Bruyne whose first time drive from 25 yards rattles the underside of the crossbar!
CLOSE! Fernandinho wins the ball on the edge of the Napoli box and sends in a cross for Silva who stretches out a leg but cannot direct it on target, he maybe should have gone with his head.
We have reached the midway point of the half and it's been quickly. Similar to the display against Stoke on Saturday, City have been scintillating at times and have a comfortable lead. Callejon and Mertens have been quiet and the Italians have given the ball away too easily.
It's a good night for the Premier League sides so far, City 2-0 up and Liverpool with a 3-0 lead over Maribor.
GOOD DEFENDING: Albiol does well to tackle Silva from Sane's through ball after the visitors had again gifted possession.
Ederson's positional play has been impressive so far. He has been guarding the edge of his box, quick to pounce on any through balls. Hamsik nearly played in Mertens but it was over-hit and the Brazilian keeper was there to mop up the danger.
The visitors have only conceded 5 goals in eight Serie A games, they have let in two in 14 minutes tonight. This has been an electric start from Pep's men.
- GoalGabriel JesusManchester City
GOAL FOR CITY! Napoli fail to clear and the dangerman De Bruyne puts in a sublime low cross for Jesus to slot the ball in from close range.
Jesus wins a corner down the left. Its played short to Sane, his cross is deep and Fernandinho's header from an acute angle goes into the side netting.
That was a typical sweeping move. Sane to Silva to Jesus and Sterling was there to slot the ball in to continue his impressive goalscoring form.
- GoalRaheem SterlingManchester City
GOAL FOR CITY! Silva's cutback finds Jesus whose shot is blocked, it falls to Sterling around eight yards out whose rebound takes a slight deflection and goes in.
GOOD DEFENDING: Stones does well to cover and intercept a ball for the full-back Ghoulam.
In the other game in this group, Berghuis has given Feyenoord the lead against Shakhtar.
Bright start from City, they are pinging the ball around confidently. De Bruyne is then harshly penalised for a foul on Koulibaly near the Napoli box.
Delph is playing at left back but is getting forward in the early stages in a midfield role, City showing their intent.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF: The hosts get the game underway.
The Champions League anthem is belted out on the speakers which leads to jeering from some home fans.
Five minutes till kick-off at the Etihad!
Pep Guardiola believes it will be a great game due to the opposition's attacking threat including Belgium’s Dries Mertens, who has 13 goals in 19 games this season.“I’m pretty sure it will be a fascinating game,” he said.
“They have three guys that are so dynamic. [Lorenzo] Insigne, Mertens and [Jose] Callejon. They are not guys to just receive long balls. They are so dynamic, good in small spaces and they run in behind and just the right tempo, especially Callejon.”
Napoli have never won an away game against English opposition in all competitions, losing five of their six trips and conceding 15 goals and scoring only three. And none of their 12 Champions League away games have ended goalless.
Napoli, who have three points from two group games, are battling Shakhtar Donetsk and Feyenoord for second place in Group F as it stands.
Maurizio Sarri believes Manchester City are the strongest team in Europe and he did not want to watch too many of City's games as he did not want to get "depressed".
"The feeling I get watching Man City play, I didn't even get watching Real Madrid last year. I always felt my team could give opponents a hard time, but this time I think Man City are a formidable team
"But if we want to play at a certain level, we have to do it in important matches and aim at achieving results.I watched a few matches. I didn't want to watch all of them because I didn't want to get depressed. I think Man City are by far the strongest team in Europe at the moment."
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had called for his side to rest key players tonight ahead of the weekend game with Inter Milan. But the Italians make only two changes to the team that beat Roma at the weekend with Pitor Zielinski and Amadou Diawara replacing Allan and Jorginho.
