Peter Schmeichel has criticised Liverpool for having a “very confusing” goalkeeping situation, as well as claiming that Loris Karius is almost as good as Manuel Neuer.

Liverpool’s turbulent season continued on Tuesday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Spartak Moscow in the Champions League, leaving them without a win in their opening two games of the group.
Jurgen Klopp’s defensive organization has been under intense scrutiny following a number of lapses from Liverpool, who have won only once in their past six matches, and Schmeichel says it is not hard to pinpoint what is going wrong.
"It's so obvious what the problem is - we talk about the fab four [Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah], we should be talking about the flat four," Schmeichel told Sky Sports.
The back four just doesn't work and the goalkeeper situation is very confusing.
Karius and Simon Mignolet have shared goalkeeping duties this season and the former has been criticized for his failure to keep out Fernando’s free-kick on Tuesday night.
Still, Schmeichel feels that he has huge ability.
“He brought Karius in - who comes in with a reputation of being very, very close in quality to Neuer, he’s just behind him - no one can beat Neuer but this guy is just behind him.
“He plays a few games doesn’t play well and he has to go back to Mignolet, who is actually playing okay.”
