Plymouth trial McVeigh

29-year-old McVeigh is a free agent after been released by Norwich and Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway feels he could be the perfect replacement for Kevin Gallen.

McVeigh can also operate in a midfield role and Holloway is attracted by his versatility.

The Argyle boss said: "We will be having a look at Paul McVeigh who is currently out of contract.

"Not having Kevin Gallen, I would like to have a look at someone else. I might need someone else on that right-hand side, who can do a dual role if we get some injuries."

The Belfast man has been capped 20 times by Northern Ireland.
