The 26-year-old scored 18 goals as the R's were relegated from the Premier League last season and it was widely anticipated he would land an immediate return to the top flight.
Austin has already scored four goals in the Championship this year, with QPR standing firm over their £15million valuation of the forward - who was named in the England squad for the first time in June.
Leicester had a bid rejected earlier in the window and other clubs such as West Ham and Manchester United were linked with a move for the former Burnley man, who now looks set to stay at the club as Chris Ramsey looks to guide them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
"#9 #QPR big season ahead," he wrote on Twitter.
It is not the first time Austin has used social media during the window.
He also used Twitter to issue a response to West Ham owner David Sullivan after he said signing the player would be a big risk for the club due to his previous injury issues.
Austin labelled the claims as an "outrageous slur" and Sullivan later apologised. The striker then saw his odds on joining Louis van Gaal's United side slashed after they missed out on a number of top targets.
But the former bricklayer, who was not included in Roy Hodgson's latest England squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers, now seems to have nailed his colours to the QPR mast - something the Championship outfit will see as vital to their promotion hopes.
