Christian Benteke has been handed his Crystal Palace debut for the League Cup tie with Blackpool.
Belgium international striker Benteke signed for the south London club from Liverpool on Saturday
And Benteke was watching on from the stands as Palace lost 1-0 to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane later on Saturday.
But the 25-year-old made his first appearance for his new club against mid-table League Two opponents Blackpool after being named in the starting XI by manager Alan Pardew.
He did not get on to the scoresheet - but it was a straightforward 2-0 win for the Eagles.
Benteke scored 10 goals in 42 games at Liverpool and was Palace's fourth signing of the transfer window after Andros Townsend, James Tomkins and Steve Mandanda.
The club did not disclose the transfer fee or details of Benteke's four-year contract, but media reports suggest the figure could rise to more than £30 million.
