Mundo Deportivo is among the sources claiming the Chilean will shortly arrive in Manchester with a medical due on Wednesday. City are expected to announce Bravo's signing once they have agreed terms with Barcelona.
Reports last week indicated City are likely to pay a fee of around £17m for the goalkeeper, who is set to replace Joe Hart as the club's No.1. Reports also indicate Hart will now likely part company with City ahead of the transfer window closure on August 31.
Bravo played for Barca against Real Betis in the season-opening 6-2 win on Saturday but then was allowed to miss training as his exit gathered pace.
The 33-year-old spent two years at the Camp Nou after joining from Real Sociedad and was Barca’s goalkeeper for La Liga, with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen taking the gloves in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
Bravo however, was unhappy with the joint responsibilities between himself and Ter Stegen, and pushed to leave Barca this summer as a result.
