Barcelona’s Lionel Messi pulls out of semi-final

Barcelona's Lionel Messi will miss the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup against Guangzhou Evergrande because of renal colic.

The Argentine forward will sit out Thursday’s game which will decide who faces River Plate in the final.

However, the was no indication from the club as to whether Messi would miss the final because of the problem, which is a type of abdominal pain.
