Luis Enrique’s young Barcelona side offered a glimpse of what the future might hold for the Catalans by sticking eight past Huesca in a comprehensive Copa Del Rey fourth round second leg win at Camp Nou.
Pedro Rodriguez scored a first half hat-trick against the third-tier opposition, with Barca easing into the next round of the competition with a 12-1 aggregate scoreline after a 4-0 first leg victory. But it was the Catalans’ young, fringe players who provided the brightest highlights for the home side.
Sergi Roberto, Sandro Ramirez and 18-year-old debutant Adama Traore, as well as Andres Iniesta and Adriano, all found the net, with Huesca netting a late consolation goal through Gaspar following some slack marking from a corner kick with just minutes left.

KEY STATS
Seven of Barcelona’s eight goals against Huesca were scored by Spanish players.
Pedro has scored his third hat-trick for Barcelona in all competitions, with the last two having been scored in December.
Pedro has scored more Copa del Rey goals than any other Barcelona player in the last two seasons.
TALKING POINT - Is Adama Traore the next big thing at Barcelona?
With just under 15 minutes left to play Enrique threw on Adama as his final substitution of the game, and within just a few minutes the B team forward had announced himself on the Camp Nou stage in style. His debut goal, twisting and turning through the Huesca defence before slipping a calm finish beneath the goalkeeper, was one to remember and hinted at what might follow in years to come from Adama.
MAN OF THE MATCH - Pedro Rodriguez
This was a night when Barcelona’s young talent stole the show, but the first half performance of Pedro shouldn’t be overlooked, with the number seven bagging three goals in the opening 45 minutes. While this fixture might have been against sub-standard opposition, it did prompt the question over whether Pedro should be starting ahead of Luis Suarez when Liga duty resumes.
