The Welshman, who won the Premier League manager of the year award last season after steering the Eagles to an 11th-placed finish, recalled Victor Anichebe for Brown Ideye as he looked to address a run of three straight defeats.
Palace, on the other hand, are enjoying a rich vein of form under Alan Pardew, having taken 25 points from their previous 12 games. They also made just one alteration to the side that hammered Sunderland 4-1 last weekend as Joe Ledley came in for Pape Souare.
