De Jong double in PSV cup success

PSV Eindhoven clinched the Super Cup with a supremely comfortable 3-0 triumph over Groningen to send a warning to their Eredivisie rivals.

The reigning league champions took the lead after 25 minutes through Luuk de Jong and never looked back, with Adam Maher making it 2-0 after 50 minutes, before De Jong wrapped up the win with his second of the afternoon 13 minutes later.

PSV get their title defence under way at ADO Den Haag next Saturday, while last year's KNVB Cup winners Groningen kick off their season at home to FC Twente.
