Memphis Depay has been urged by his old manager Dick Advocaat to leave Manchester United for the good of his career.

The winger joined United last summer but he struggled to make much of an impact during his fist season under Louis van Gaal.
Since Jose Mourinho took over from Louis van Gaal this summer the Dutchman has started just once, against Northampton in the EFL Cup.
He was left out of the travelling squad to face Fenerbahce in the Europa League with Advocaat, who gave him his debut at PSV and now manages the Turkish side, believes it's time Depay left in order to live up to his potential.

“The potential is there for him to be a good player, you cannot lose that, he has the quality to be a top player.
“But the problem is for him is that there are so many quality players in that squad, so for himself it's important to start playing regularly at the age he's at.
“Otherwise, the way I think is that maybe he has to find another solution [club], because he's too good to sit on the bench.

“I still believe in him. He has the right mentality and the right character to play for United, but there are so many options there.
“Regular playing time [elsewhere] will help his progression.”
Depay came on as a substitute against Bunley at the weekend during the 0-0 draw but according to a report from the Manchester Evening News his team-mates were surprised he was chosen and he has been left out of the Europa League game because of poor training performances.
