Here, Press Association Sport looks at where the game could be won and lost.
JAROSLAW FOJUT v ADAM ROONEY
How Dundee United's 27-year-old Polish stopper deals with Rooney will be key to the Tannadice side's chances of success. Fojut has been the constant in United's ever-changing defence which has to look back to a 3-0 win over St Mirren in November for their last shut-out. Two of the Irishman's impressive 20-goal tally to date came when he scored a brace in the 2-0 win over United in December and he goes into the game on the back of gaining a point for the Dons with a spectacular 25-yard strike against St Johnstone last weekend.
JOHN RANKIN v RYAN JACK
The exciting Jack has been one of Aberdeen's top players this season. The 22-year-old midfielder is lively, pacey and creative; attributes which helped him win the SPFL player of the month award for December. Rankin, a neat and tidy player, will need to use all his experience in the holding midfielder's role to quell Jack's threat and provide a platform for Jackie McNamara's side to go forward.
NADIR CIFTCI v MARK REYNOLDS
Ciftci has all the attributes of a modern striker; pace, mobility, touch and an eye for a goal. The Tannadice fans have enjoyed his vast array of wonderful finishes and assists since signing from NAC Breda in 2013. It is not surprising that the 22-year-old from Turkey has been linked with a move to Celtic among others with the club reportedly valuing him at £3million but his focus will be on taking United to the first final of the season. Reynolds, however, is no slouch himself. The 27-year-old Scotland B cap has been the backbone of the Dons defence this season with consistent and intelligent performances which have become his trademark.
