Germany got their Euro 2016 qualification campaign firmly back on track as goals from Marco Reus and Thomas Mueller secured a 2-0 victory over Georgia.
The world champions were the better side for the majority of the 90 minutes but found their hosts in stubborn form while Reus hit the bar in each half.
However, with just over six minutes of the opening period remaining the world champions found a way through as the Dortmund man scored for the second successive match.
And the visitors would head into half-time with a two-goal advantage as Mueller finished smartly from the edge of the area.
They would have been expected to push on for more goals after the break but while comfortable rarely threatened a third, although Reus did strike the woodwork.

KEY MOMENTS
3' - OUCH! A terrible start for Georgia as they lose centre-back Aleksandr Amisulashvili through injury less than three minutes in. Not the start they wanted.
5' - GERMANY HIT THE BAR! Mueller feeds Reus in the area and his deflected effort smacks against the crossbar.
13' - CHANCE! A well-worked corner as Toni Kroos plays the ball towards the penalty spot, where Mueller shoots wide.
26' - CHANCE! Sebastian Rudy gets forward on the right wing and Mario Goetze stabs his cut back just wide.
29' - CHANCE! A crisp passing move from the visitors ends with Reus firing just wide from the edge of the area.
39' - GOAL! Georgia 0-1 Germany. Goetze gets a little lucky to drive into the Georgia box and as the ball falls to Reus the Dortmund man finishes clinically.
44' - GOAL! Georgia 0-2 Germany. Mesut Ozil picks out Mueller on the edge of the box, and after he sorts his feet out, picks out the bottom corner.
60' - REUS HITS THE BAR AGAIN! Rudy delivers a perfect ball for Reus who hits the woodwork with a first-time shot.
77' - GEORGIA ON FRONT FOOT The hosts enjoy their best spell as they win a series of corners, thanks to a couple of sliced clearances from Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mueller.

Mueller has had a hand in 13 goals (10 goals, three assists) in his last 14 internationals.
Georgia had only three shots on goal, half as many as Reus on his own.

TALKING POINT
Can this result kick-start Germany's qualifying campaign? Joachim Loew's side have been fairly inconsistent since winning the World Cup, and this was only their fourth win in eight games since the final last July. However, victory puts them right back in with a shout of topping Group D, and they should make Euro 2016 with ease. That said, Loew will not have been completely happy with this performance, not least as they failed to put their hosts to the sword having built a two-goal lead. The lack of an out-and-out striker meant they were extremely narrow at times, something that could hurt them against better teams.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Marco Reus (Germany): On another day the Borussia Dortmund winger would have scored a hat-trick. Reus struck the woodwork twice and took his goal well. He was a constant menace, refusing to stick to his wing and picking up pockets of space in and around Mario Goetze. Thomas Mueller also had a fine game, while Toni Kroos was an assured presence in midfield.
