England take on Lithuania in Euro 2016 qualifying looking to extend their record of four consecutive wins which has left them six points clear at the top of Group E already.

Roy Hodgson: "I am pleased people are looking into the problem itself more and more - how are we going to turn gifted players from academies into top-class footballers. To be fair to the FA and the Premier League, they are trying all sorts of methods but the bottom line is, will there be enough managers and clubs prepared to take a chance on these players? Or will they always look beyond and go and see what there is in Brazil, Spain and Germany? We are being helped by some of the clubs who are starting to turn their backs on so-called big-name foreign players and giving homegrown and young players a chance. Tottenham are a good example of that and so are Southampton. Harry Kane is the best talisman for that."

Igoris Pankratjevas: "We are quite realistic about it. We are not dreamers, it is always history that Lithuania are playing England for the first time ever. Obviously none of the players have played at such a stage so we are preparing them mentally for this kind of game. I like the England team in general recently as they have some new players along with their experienced ones. The new players give them more creativity."

Joe Hart: ''I could potentially get 50 caps (against Italy). I am knocking on those kind of tallies at the moment which is exciting. I am honoured to play every single game I have done for England and for it to be 48 so far is fantastic but I just want to keep playing. I don't ever see any end. I don't want there to be an end. You can't finish one game and think: 'that is me sorted', I want to keep going, I keep preparing for games and hopefully I keep playing in them. It's exciting of course, but I want to get there first."

Gary Cahill on Harry Kane: "He's a real handful, a fantastic talent. He's not just somebody who can hold the ball up, he can run in behind, he's got two good feet. For me he's got all the attributes. To score a hat-trick leading to his first meet up, his confidence must be sky high at the minute and he's had a terrific season. He's a real top player."
