Francesco Totti shines as Roma draw on his 100th European appearance

Francesco Totti continued to prove there was life in the old dog yet during another class outing for the Roma veteran against Austria Wien in the Europa League on Thursday.

It was Totti’s 100th European game just weeks after his 40th birthday and he defied any remaining nay-sayers once more making his fourth assist in three Europa League games.

It wasn’t enough to take the three points in the end as Roma gave away a two goal lead having gone 3-1 up thanks to Stephan El Shaarawy’s first-half brace, added to by Alessandro Florenzi’s 70th minute strike.

Raphael Holzhauser’s first-half goal looked likely to be the only time Austria Wien would find the net.

Victory was there for Roma’s taking until Dominik Prokop and Olarenwaju Kayode levelled within the space of just two minutes scoring in the 82nd and 84th minutes respectively to earn themselves a point.
